Springbank Figure Skating Club Refund and Ice Cancellation Policy

The Refund and Ice Cancellation Policy for the Springbank Figure Skating Club (SFSC or the Club) is set out below. If you have any questions, or wish to request a refund, please contact a member of the Club's Board of Directors.

Program Cancellation: If the program is cancelled by SFSC prior to the commencement of the program, a full refund will be issued to the skater that has registered for the program.

Emergency Cancellations: SFSC does not issue refunds or credits if ice is cancelled by the Springbank Park for all Seasons (SPFAS) or for mechanical breakdown. In the event that SPFAS cancels ice or ice is cancelled due to mechanical breakdown, the Club will provide as much notice as possible and will make reasonable efforts to find replacement ice at a later date but if scheduling does not allow for this, there will be no refund or credit of ice fees for the cancellation.

Before a Program has started: Refunds or credits will be considered by the Club if a student wishes to withdraw prior to the program starting, with reasonable notice. There will be a $50 administration fee that will be deducted from any refund or credit issues. Membership fees are non-refundable as noted below.

Once a Program has started: Sessions are non-transferable to any other skater (whether it be in your family, or to another skater). Refunds or credits will be considered by the Club only for long-term medical reasons or injuries accompanied by a medical doctor's note. There will be a $50.00 administration fee that will be deducted from any refund or credit for the fall and winter sessions, and a $25.00 administration fee that will be deducted from any refund or credit for the spring and summer sessions.  Please note, your refund or credit will be for the remainder of the ice cost paid for the season, less the above noted administration fee. Except as noted above, skater absences or missed ice will not be refunded or credited and cannot be made up at a different time. You must skate the sessions that you have registered for or pay applicable pick up fees for different ice sessions.

Membership Fees: The Skate Canada Membership Fee and SFSC Community Membership fees are non-refundable.

Ice Session Change: At coach and Executive's discretion, a skater may be moved from a session for safety reasons, class numbers, or progression. Ice fees will be moved to the proposed session in consultation with the parents.

Changes to Registration: Any changes to registration will incur a $50.00 administration fee per request for fall and winter sessions, and a $25.00 administration fee for any spring or summer sessions.

Ice Cancellation by Club: Ice canceled by SFSC for tests, competition or other special events will be subject to a credit. SFSC does not issue refunds or credits if the Club cancels ice due to unforseen circumstances, such as inclement weather conditions.  The Club will provide members with as much notice as possible if sessions are canceled due to unsafe weather conditions, but there will be no refund or credit of ice fees for the cancellation.

Set Ice Allocation for Set Sessions:  Skaters may register for the set sessions that are offered. Any requests to provide reduced fees for shorter periods of skating on any given day will not be considered by the Club. No partial refund will be provided to skaters should they choose to skate less for any given session.

Expulsion from the Club: Should a skater be expelled from the Club, no refunds or credits will be provided.

Please allow four weeks for receipt of all eligible funds
